Relics of the Tour of Flanders

The Ronde van Vlaanderen is the pinnacle of racing in Flanders. The Tour of Flanders has a rich history with a thousand and one chapters and stories. Tangible memories of the Tour are kept all over Flanders: at private collectors, in the Centre Tour of Flanders, but also in KOERS. With the help of the De Vel family, Eric Leman, Noël Grégoire, Jurgen Roelandts, and Stijn and Rik Devolder, we are proud to present some of these gems.

Victory sashes of Eric Leman. Leman won the Ronde three times (1970, 1972, 1973) and received a ribbon after each of his victories. Leman is after Achiel Buysse and Fiorenzo Magni the third rider who succeeded in winning the Ronde three times. Johan Museeuw and Tom Boonen followed.

Poster Tour of Flanders 1956 — Poster of the 1956 Tour. With three consecutive victories (1949-1950-1951) of the Italian Fiorenzo Magni, it became clear in the early fifties that a Belgian victory - in contrast to before the Second World War - was no longer evident. In 1956, the Swiss Hugo Koblet, together with the Frenchman Roger Hassenforder and Fred De Bruyne, were named as the big favourites. However, it is the Frenchman Jean Forestier who wins that year. Specialized racing bike Stijn Devolder Tour of Flanders — With 30 kilometres to go in Meerbeke, Belgian champion Stijn Devolder hit the decisive acceleration on this Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL 2. Volderke' keeps the gathered opponents behind him and solos to victory. At the end of the season, Devolder receives the bike as a gift from his team. Father Rik puts on other wheels and tours on Sundays with this gem.
